Control Room Clerk (12:00pm - Close)

Position Summary:

To ensure all products are shipped within an accurate timely manner to meet customer expectations as well as ensuring all documents are recorded as per procedure. 

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule pick up  appointments for containers, truckload  and LTL outbound shipments
  • Process printed bills of lading
  • Confirm bills of lading
  • Communicate with dispatchers, trucking companies and customers as necessary
  • Ensure that the product is picked, and orders are assembled based on appointment times
  • Monitor product brought to loading dock for trucker inspection and count pursuant to HACCP regulations
  • Monitor when product is tagged, wrapped and loaded on truck
  • Responsible for collecting and copying proper ID from truckers
  • Responsible for collecting and processing all C.O.D.’s
  • Responsible for manually adjusting all cut orders
  • Process cancellations of previously pulled orders by shippers
  • Process refusals for an order portion, or entire order by consignee
  • Process cancellations of non-pulled orders by shippers
  • Coordinate schedule, assist and complete inspections
  • Coordinate picking, packing and shipping of FedEx sample or shipments. Manage the inventory.
  • Monitor usage of the dock doors to prevent platform confusion
  • Coordinate repack work with General/Operations Manger
  • Provide all picking copies to be scanned in Docsurfer, inventory management
  • Verify that weights are taken and attached to outbound shipment
  • Fill in for the Receiving clerk if necessary

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Time management and self-awareness skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Extremely high organization skills & ability to multi-task/prioritize

  • The Control Room Clerk is responsible for maintaining compliance with GWP’s and all other food safety requirements.
  • Follow practices and procedures through a robust Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP)
  • Follow and enforce all food safety and quality requirements.
