Inventory Control Specialist

Position Summary:

An Inventory Control Specialist assists in stock taking, monitoring inventory and performs inventory control responsibilities in order to assist in the coordination of the incoming and outgoing of product.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Quality control of Intermec scanners (i.e. repairs, update user list, date. time, etc.).
  • Update and review all inspections and corrected inventories.
  • Research for customer claims.
  • Research bad lots and locations.
  • Know how to manual RELO if necessary.
  • Print and purge monthly master lot, store one month locally in binder.
  • Keep 6-month back up of HHRE reports
  • Knowledge of entering and canceling orders and inspections.
  • Direct Cycle Count Clerk on any new projects that need to be completed.
  • Research and fix all bad location tickets.
  • Supply all lot information on cut orders (i.e. tallies previous pulled orders).
  • Inspect products for proper and intact packaging.
  • Inspect product to be fully frozen.
  • Audit availability error report.
  • Audit zero lot report from Physical Inventory PHIR.
  • Assist in physical inventory for customers.
  • Observe freezer conditions and report to Operation Manager or General Manager of any problems or improvements needed.     
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with Company policies and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2-3 years of warehouse inventory-related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cataloguing inventory techniques and packaging of goods.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet necessary targets.
  • Should possess basic technological knowledge and the ability to operate a PC.
  • Should possess good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments of the organization.
  • Stands for long periods of time and frequently has o lift, push and pull 10-70 lbs while performing routine job functions.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends occasionally as required.
  • Must have a solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
