Reach Truck Operator (2nd Shift)

Preferred Freezer Services of Dayton, LLC currently has an excellent opportunity for a Reach Truck Operator.  As a Reach Truck Operator you will be responsible for shifting of goods and material from one place to another in a temperature controlled cold storage warehouse. The operator is also involved in loading and unloading processes as well as sorting and systematic handling of product. This position will work 2nd shift (2:00PM to 10:30PM).

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Loading goods on and off forklift in a systematic procedure.
  • Following proper handling procedure of the goods.
  • Conducting regular inspection of reach trucks to ensure its safety and ability to perform necessary operations.
  • Assisting in making pallets of goods and materials to put on trucks for transportation.
  • Maintaining and working in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms (OSHA).
  • Verifying the loaded material with the order form given.
  • Coordinating work with the warehouse staff and efficiently carrying out the orders of the supervisor.
  • Checking, counting and weighing of inventory.
  • Partaking in training for license renewal.
  • Submitting productivity reports on a daily basis.
  • Complying with Company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution with some related experience preferred but not required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Forklift certification desired but not required.
  • 1-2 years of Reach Truck Operator and/or similar material handling equipment experience. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends occasionally as required.
  • Must have a solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to efficiently coordinate work with co-workers and take orders from superiors.
  • Awareness of the safety and official procedures for handling good and supplies.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
