JOB SUMMARY

PFS Logistics is looking for CDL, Class A drivers to support the dedicated shuttle business at our new Richland, WA facility.  Our company drivers will be responsible for safely transferring frozen freight from three local production sites to the Preferred Freezer facility.  The operation will run on 3 overlapping, 12 hour shifts; some may be eligible for shift differential pay.  Our drivers are pro-active and responsible for arriving on time for pick up and deliveries. They will ensure accuracy of paperwork associated with the job performed and confirm that all the requirements of the job assigned met, in coordination with the dispatch and operations departments.  Responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate and up to date driver logs for hours of service as well as equipment maintenance.  Our drivers operate new and well maintained equipment, with the expectations of keeping in the same condition.  Some specialized equipment may be used, training will be provided.  As an employee of Preferred Freezer Services, our drivers provide the highest levels of customer service and live up to the “We get it done!” motto of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to scheduled pick-up and delivery times.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operation of all company equipment.
  • Adhere to all OCHOA and DOT safety regulations.
  • Report any issues to dispatch or management.
  • Inspect assigned equipment for functionality and safety.
  • Exacerbate customer service skills and willingness to go above and beyond to meet client expectations.
  • Verify paperwork and ensure accuracy of bills versus actual freight.
  • Project clean and well maintained uniform appearance.
  • Maintain driver logbook and expenses.
  • Make sound decisions that benefit the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years’ experience or equivalent driving a Class A commercial vehicle.  
  • Current valid commercial and motor vehicle license.
  • Clean driving record with no serious violations or offenses.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and implementation and facilitation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of truck and refrigeration units’ maintenance.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and to push pull a pallet jack with up to 3000 lbs. of freight.
  • Must be ok in working in potential subzero temperature environment.
  • Ability to complete a medical and drug screening.
  • Must be able to pass various safety and regulation exams.
