Preferred Freezer Services of Richland, WA has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor entire refrigeration system
    • Check all freezer temperatures
    • Take readings on al screws compressors
    • Take readings on all compressor engines
    • Take readings on gas generators if running
    • Check all levels of refrigeration vessels
    • Low oxygen levels
  • Ensure all procedures and policies are followed in accordance with SCBA (Self Containing Breathing Apparatus) and all apparatus are up to code
  • Evaluate/complete what needs repair from previous night
  • Handle repairs and maintenance on all Crown and Dematic machinery
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining their trucks
  • Perform regular leak check of entire refrigeration system and low oxygen
  • Coordinate with General Manager on upcoming major products that need to be balanced into the budget
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all machinery
  • Responsible for general warehouse upkeep i.e. paint, floor repair, door repair, etc.
  • Perform necessary engine service on Cummins deisal gas engine
    • Every 750 hours
    • Replace spark plugs
    • Change oil & filter
    • Set intake & exhaust valves
    • Check coolant level & Ph
    • Change air filter
    • Change transmission filter & oil

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
  • 2-5 years related experience
  • Must be able to work alone or in a team environment
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Sense of urgency
  • Must be safety conscious and follow OSHA, WSHA and EPA regulations
  • Ability to troubleshoot/resolve problems
  • Communicate effectively
  • Lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Valid drivers license
  • Computer skills
