Job Summary: 

The Logistics Supervisor will manage a team of company drivers, transporting finished product from production facilities to our state-of-the-art freezers.   

Daily functions will include, but not limited to: 

  • Coordinate driver schedules and routes to accommodate production demand while optimizing personnel, equipment productivity and customer service levels are maintained.
  • Monitor all driver logs, inspections and regulatory guidelines are adhered to.
  • Oversee the recruiting, hiring and training of new drivers. 
  • Manage equipment utilization and planned maintenance of all equipment (tractors, reefer trailers, dry trailers and Auto Truck Loading (ATL) Reefer trailers), in coordination with the Corporate Fleet Administrator.
  • Ensure all transportation billing is executed accurately and timely. 
  • Collaborate with Freezer Operations team to review processes, making suggestions on how to increase the organization’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience and Education: 

  • Associates degree, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business and/or Supply Chain/Logistics discipline, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience or equivalent in transportation and/or supply chain required.  
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a DOT Compliance, Dispatcher / Customer Logistics / Transportation Manager or similar role/function.
  • Experience with both optimization/transportation software packages. (ex. Profit Tools, TMW, PiNC & Accellos / HighJump preferred)
  • Must possess thorough understanding of supply chain and transportation methods/modes, cost structures, service requirements, tariffs, fuel scales, accessorials, equipment and infrastructure in order to ensure optimal day-to-day management of clients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals/groups from varied backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Detail and multi-task oriented. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and implementation and facilitation skills.
