Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will assist the General Manager by taking charge of the overall warehouse operation and performing responsibilities to ensure all standards are met.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Resolve daily problems pertaining to warehouse operations ensuring adequate staff needs are met
  • Oversee all operations i.e. shipping, receiving, inventory, warehouse workers, maintenance staff
  • Responsible for opening and closing building (if applicable)
  • Record temperatures in engine room from the compressors, check air compressors for fire system/low oxygen, makes sure the building is clean inside and outside and check full containers for pin locks for security
  • Safety training (warehouse and dock) train for all machinery and equipment being used by employees
  • Hire and train all warehouse employees
  • Review all claims and cuts, enter orders and tallies if needed before or after hours, all e-mailed photos of damaged product/containers to customers
  • Ensure inventory is kept as accurate as possible, program and update inventory scanners
  • Monitor a 3-month inventory supply for the warehouse i.e. shrink-wrap, tape, paper products, cleaning supplies.  This list should be given to the Warehouse Administrator
  • Fill in for the Shipping or Receiving Manager in the absence if necessary; fills in for GM in his/her absence
  • Weekly reports/meetings to the General Manager on productivity and tonnage
  • Supervise miscellaneous projects, i.e. take weights, labeling, re-boxing, etc.


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years’ experience working within a 3PL, warehousing environment
  • Computer, basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management
